last100: Skype, U.K. mobile carrier 3 introduce first true mobile Skype phone

I saw this announcement, got all excited, and then I saw that it was 3. Unless they've radically changed over the last year or so, they're the poor cousin of the UK's other mobile networks; the worry for me wouldn't be Skype's network, but their own. For this to be useful to me, it's got to work when I'm on a train between Oxford and London - will it?

Can't wait for this to come to the US!

... and the walls came tumbling down!

i have one of these. it's great.. there's a half-second delay on skype calls but i haven't had any reception problems. what i really like is the opportunity this presents to 3 to increase share by having customers convince their friends to switch for the skype element.. (naturally 3 still get the revenues from non-skype calls, which at 12p/min to other standard mobiles are reasonable. otherwise there's the fact that my girlfriend can now get hold of me (voice or im) at any time for free.. which may be a blessing or a curse. :(
