Opera Mini always worked through a proxy. This is how we are able to make the browser work on nearly all phones, even low-end ones. The browser's installation size is around 90KB, pretty small.

Thanks for clearing that up -- thought as much. It reminds me of the way Palm's (previously Handspring) Blazer browser worked, if I remember correctly.
